Koenigsegg Agera Finance in 2026: Funding a Discontinued Hypercar
Production of the Agera RS ended in 2018, and the standard Agera and the E85 Agera R stopped four years before that. Every one of them now changes hands privately, quietly and without a list price. For a buyer, that makes Koenigsegg Agera finance a different exercise from funding a car still in production. There is no order price to anchor the advance, no factory to take a deposit and no used guide to read a value from. There is the car, its history and whatever a valuer and a lender agree it is worth. In 2017 an Agera RS took the Guinness World Record for the fastest production car in Nevada, at an average of 277.9 mph over two runs, and records like that help keep interest in these cars alive. They do not set the advance. This guide explains how lenders approach the Agera family, works a hypothetical Agera RS through hire purchase and lease purchase, and covers refinancing one you already own.
Koenigsegg Finance is part of Hypercar Finance, a trading name of Lenzie Consulting Ltd (company number 08174104). We arrange finance: we are not a lender, not a dealer and we do not sell cars. The business is not authorised or regulated by the FCA. Agreements entered into wholly or predominantly for business purposes are not regulated consumer credit, and we arrange those directly; where an agreement is regulated consumer credit we introduce it to an FCA authorised broker partner, which carries the regulated activity and any advice. There is no minimum advance, and all the figures below are indicative, not an offer.

In the episode below, Georgina walks through how a lender puts a number on a Koenigsegg that is no longer built and rarely sold.
Which cars make up the Agera family?
The Agera replaced the CC line in 2011 and set the template for every Koenigsegg that followed. Three versions matter for finance, alongside the older and later cars buyers often compare them with.
| Car | Production years | Documented run | Reference price on our site |
|---|---|---|---|
| CCR | 2004 to 2006 | 14 | None |
| CCX | 2005 to 2010 | 29 | None |
| Agera | 2011 to 2014 | Never fixed publicly | None |
| Agera R | 2011 to 2014 | Never fixed publicly | None |
| Agera RS | 2015 to 2018 | 25 | £2,800,000 |
| Regera | 2015 to 2022 | 80 | £2,300,000 |
The runs come from manufacturer data. Where the company never fixed a figure, we leave it blank rather than guess. That gap is itself useful to know: on a standard Agera or an Agera R, a lender cannot even point to how many exist, so the individual car carries the whole argument. How a lender values a car nobody is building
On a car still in production, a lender can start from the order price. On an Agera it starts from nothing published. When we reviewed every Koenigsegg advertised for sale in the UK on 8 August 2026, there were five cars and three had no price at all. Agera sales are rarer still, so the valuation rests on the car in front of the valuer.
What moves that number, roughly in order of weight:
- History file. Service records, invoices, factory correspondence and a clear ownership chain.
- Originality. Original panels, original specification and any changes documented properly.
- Version. An Agera RS, with its record and its run of 25, is a different conversation from a standard Agera.
- Condition and mileage. Low mileage helps, but a car that has sat unused for years can raise its own questions.
- Where it has been. A car that has lived in several countries needs its import and registration paperwork in order.
Nobody is building another Agera, so the only price that counts is the one agreed for your car.
Because comparable sales are so thin, lenders tend to protect themselves through the deposit and the term rather than the rate. Expect to be asked for more equity on an Agera with a patchy history than on one with a complete file, and expect a lender to be wary of leaving a large sum to the end of the agreement.
A worked example: an Agera RS at £2,800,000
Take a hypothetical Agera RS agreed at £2,800,000, the reference figure on our model page, with 20 per cent down over 48 months at an indicative 8.9 per cent. Your own car’s valuation could be higher or lower.
- Deposit: 20 per cent of £2,800,000 is £560,000, so £2,240,000 is financed.
- Monthly rate: 8.9 divided by 12 is 0.7417 per cent. Over 48 months, 1 plus that rate compounds to 1.4257, and the annuity factor is 0.024838.
- Hire purchase: £2,240,000 multiplied by 0.024838 is about £55,636 a month. 48 payments total £2,670,528, and the full cost including the deposit is £3,230,528.
- Lease purchase: 40 per cent of the price, £1,120,000, is deferred. Divided by 1.4257 it is worth £785,561 today. £2,240,000 minus £785,561 leaves £1,454,439, which at 0.024838 gives about £36,125 a month. 48 payments total £1,734,000, and adding the deposit and final payment makes £3,414,000.
On a car that is no longer made, the case for hire purchase is strong. It costs £183,472 less in total here, and it asks nobody to predict what an Agera RS will be worth in 2030. Lease purchase is available on some cases, but the lower monthly figure comes with a £1,120,000 payment that depends on a market that trades a handful of cars.
Refinancing an Agera you already own
Many Agera owners are not buying at all. They own the car outright and want to release capital from it without selling. A refinance does that: a lender advances against the car, takes security over it, and you keep and drive it throughout.
Take a hypothetical owner whose Agera RS is valued at £2,800,000, and suppose a lender agrees to advance half of that value. The 50 per cent is an assumption for the example, not a lender figure; the real advance follows the valuation and the case. On £1,400,000 over 48 months at 8.9 per cent with nothing deferred, the payment is £1,400,000 multiplied by 0.024838, or about £34,773 a month. Across the term that is £1,669,104, of which £269,104 is interest before fees.
The negotiation on a refinance is the valuation rather than the rate, so bring the history file to the first conversation. If the car has been abroad, have its registration and import records ready as well.
The Regera and the CCX: same questions, different evidence
The Regera overlapped the Agera RS in production and is often cross-shopped with it. It has no gearbox at all, using a single fixed ratio and three electric motors, and it was built in a run of 80. Against a reference price of £2,300,000, the same assumptions give about £45,701 a month on hire purchase and £29,674 on lease purchase. It also has slightly more visible sales evidence than an Agera: of the five Koenigseggs we found advertised in the UK in August 2026, three were Regeras, one of them at £2,600,000 with an independent specialist.
The CCX sits at the other end of the scale. It was the car built for the United States market, with 29 made, and the one CCX advertised in the UK that day carried no published price. Funding a CCX looks much like funding an Agera: an agreed valuation, a complete history file and a lender comfortable with a car that sells perhaps once in a long while. You can find more about the Agera RS and its record on its own page.
Who signs, and what rules apply
Agera purchases are often made through a limited company, and a company borrowing sits outside the consumer credit regime; at sums this size so does any agreement made wholly or predominantly for business purposes. We arrange those directly. A personal agreement is likely to be regulated under the Consumer Credit Act 1974, including its right to end the agreement once 50 per cent of the total amount payable has been paid, and we introduce those cases to an FCA authorised broker partner. How the car is treated for tax is a matter for your accountant.
Outlook for discontinued Koenigseggs
No more Agera, Agera R or Agera RS cars will be built, so the pool is fixed and every sale will stay a private, case by case affair. That keeps valuations central to every agreement. The Bank of England base rate is 3.75 per cent, held at the 30 July 2026 decision, with the next decision due on 17 September 2026. It is background to the cost of borrowing, not the rate you would pay, which is set by the lender on the specific car.
FAQ
How much is a Koenigsegg Agera a month? It depends on the version and the agreed value. On an Agera RS at £2,800,000 with 20 per cent down over 48 months at 8.9 per cent, about £55,636 on hire purchase or £36,125 on lease purchase with a £1,120,000 final payment. A standard Agera has no reference price, so its figures follow its valuation.
Is a Koenigsegg Agera road legal in the UK? Yes, as a road car registered with the DVLA. An Agera that has spent its life abroad must be registered in the UK before it is driven here, and a lender will want that done and its security in place before it releases funds.
How much does it cost to buy a Koenigsegg Agera? There is no new price, because the car is no longer built. The reference figure we use for an Agera RS is £2,800,000. Standard Agera and Agera R cars change hands privately at prices agreed car by car, and the figure that matters for finance is the one a lender accepts after valuation.
Can anyone buy a Koenigsegg Agera? Anyone with the means can buy a used one, as no allocation is needed for a car already built. Finance adds a lender’s checks on income, assets and the business behind the purchase, and the lender will look as closely at the car’s history as at the buyer.
